[Blog] - Ridge House joins the GiftingWishes family

Since 1982, a local organization has been helping residents regain their feet and become self-sufficient members of our community. For the past twenty years, the Ridge House has been serving the criminal justice population through prevention, intervention and rehabilitation treatment, thereby assisting the community in our fight against crime.

The Ridge House provides services to assist the former offender in the reenty process.Â This includes case management and assessment to determine the client's individual needs. Work force development, mentoring and substance abuse treatment are strategies employed for men and women at six facilities across the city of Reno.Â Clients participate in weekly therapeutic groups, individual sessions, case management, mentoring groups, 12-step meetings and spirituality training.Â The Ridge House also assists clients with improving their credit, preparing budgets, restoring their right to vote, housing, clothing and diet and exercise needs.Â Our comprehensive substance abuse treatment program has a distinct 12-step orientation with the goal to restore the addicted individual physically, mentally and spiritually.

Like other local nonprofit organizations, the Ridge House relies on charitable funding to maintain its ability to help the many men and women seeking proper guidance. Because they rely on private contributions each year, the organization created an account on GiftingWishes. Their hope is to create awareness, publicly share their needs and wishes, and generate financial support. Below are the wishes they've posted on their GiftingWishes page so far. Please note that 100% of funds transacted through this page will go directly to the Ridge House, as prescribed by each donor.

Bus passes -Â particularly for transportation to and from employment

Treatment costs - particularly costs not covered by restricted grants

Swamp cooler - to be used to keep comfortable during large group meetings

Office supplies - to help offset basic office management costs
